2010 annual report from the Formula Experience Class to the ISAF Windsurfing Committee

In 2006 the Formula Experience and Formula Windsurfing classes agreed a policy of joint championship events. This included combining world and continental championships under the "Formula Festival" umbrella, with Junior, Youth and Masters world titles. This co-operation has continued into 2010, but with a difference - the ISAF world title in FE has moved the ISAF from the junior to the senior age group. In many countries FE is seen as a viable alternative to formula with less emphasis on the equipment, and a less expensive racing class.

The 2010 World Championship was held in Araruama, near Rio Janeiro, Brasil, from 11th to 16th October.

Continental Championships took place in 3 continents:
North Americans- Miami, Florida, USA. Champion - Aldo Maia (BRA)
Europeans- Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy. Champion - Aldo Maia (BRA)
South Americans- Paracas, Peru. Champion - Nicolas Schreier (PER)

The class has maintained its membership during 2010, with fleets continuing to grow in some countries, particularly South America (Brazil, Peru, Chile) and Mexico.

The 2010 AGM was held during the world championships in Brasil. The most significant decision was to move towards a "one design" class from 2012.

The 2011 World Championships will take place in Cancun, Mexico, with continental championships confirmed for North America (Mexico), South America (Chile) and Europe (Portugal).
