For a reason they are World Champions (referring to FE Worlds in Spain 2009 where Sebastian Aguirre was named FE World Champion and Nicolas Schreier got 1st place in the Senior FE fleet)
After a weekend with winds bordering 30 knots, the Peruvian Formula Experience National Championship came to an end. After 12 races in the 2 events of the championship (5 races in event I and 7 races in event II) Nicolas Schreier is again crowned as our national champion 2009.
However, Sebastian Aguirre stole the show, he not only got the title in his category (U17) but also obtained 2nd place in the OPEN category. If I am not mistaken, it is the first time that a junior manages to be so well placed in the OPEN category.
Ricardo Valderrama completed the podium, who by determination managed to be one of the few survivors of an event in extreme wind conditions.
Another person who shone the last weekend was Josefina Roeder, who held on through all the races and got the Women's Title 2009.
On the other hand, Michelle de Trazegnies excelled in the Beginners' fleet. Finally Santiago Canseco got the National Youth Title with an ample advantage over his competitors.
All my commentaries are not enough; everyone gave 100% in the water and left us all very proud. If we have learnt something it is that no one can let down now; the juniors have arrived and it seems as they plan to stay!
