Posted On:  01/01/2012 09:03:22

Three races on the final day, making a total of 12 races for the Championship, and Nicolas Schreier PER 2 retains the title of Formula Experience World Champion.

25 year old Nicolas from Lima, Peru prefers windier conditions but nailed this championship with 7 wins and finished a good 14 points ahead of his nearest rival, 46 year old grand master Luis Fernando Souza from Brazil, who had headed the leaderboard at the start of the event.

Mexican Youth, Maricio Martinez, who had also had a spell at the top, was unable to maintain his form and ended in bronze position.

16 year old Mexican Ignacio Berenguer from Cancun, winner of race 6 and with all his other counting results in the top five, finished in fourth.

First lady was Demita Vega de Lille from Cozumel, Mexico, 7th overall.

A light wind event with temperatures of 24-28 degrees every day, Wind Adventure Mexico and the Mexican Windsurfing Association are to be congratulated for their organisation; making sure there was plenty going on, from Stand Up Paddle Board competitions to colourful and fun beach activities.  A most memorable event.
